Multiple University of Cincinnati students have graduated to work at Kaleidoscope including EnableUC co-founder Nick Bailey, or are currently co-oping with the company including current EnableUC President Andrew Dilley. Kaleidoscope now employs 10 co-ops per semester on their engineering, design, human factors, and sales teams, with 25 of those co-op students from UC having been hired on full-time over the last 8 years. Kaleidoscope recently made a very generous donation to EnableUC to support our mission to deliver 3D printed prosthetics free-of-charge to kids around the globe. Additionally, multiple full-time Kaleidoscope Innovation engineers will be consulting on EnableUC Research and Development projects to help us develop new devices for our clients. We here at EnableUC are very grateful and proud of Kaleidoscope Innovation’s support, and we are excited to work with them on our projects. Although there are a wide range of gait trainers (walkers) to assist kids and adults with impaired motor coordination, there are no commercially available baskets for them to help users carry their belongings. EnableUC will be utilizing 3D printing to design and produce baskets that can be attached to gait trainers for Mad Kicks and the Perlman Center to give free-of-charge to kids in need. The designs for the baskets will also be provided to the world’s 3D printing community as an open-source file downloadable on Thingiverse.com.
