Assistive Devices

What are assistive devices?

Many daily tasks people take for granted, from opening a door, holding a phone, or brushing your teeth, are not designed with differently-abled individuals in mind. Assistive Devices attempt to bridge that gap by increasing the user's independence.

Unfortunately, many such devices are not commercially available due to low demand. Using 3D printing technology, volunteers such as EnableUC can design and produce these devices in a few hours, at only a few cents' expense

EnableUC has designed or produced over 40 assistive devices for individuals. We work with the user through all stages of the process, from identifying the problem and ideating solutions, CADing prototypes, printing, assembly, testing, and design revision in response to feedback.
